What it is
Paint protection film, also called PPF or clear bra, is a clear urethane film that goes over your paint. It takes the hits from rock chips, road debris, light scratches, bug guts and bird droppings so the paint underneath doesn’t.
Most quality films today are self-healing, which means light swirls and scratches in the film fade away with heat from the sun or warm water. Installed right, good film is hard to spot, and it comes in gloss or matte.
PPF and ceramic coating aren’t the same thing. A ceramic coating makes paint glossy and easy to clean, but it won’t stop a rock chip. PPF is a physical layer that does. A lot of owners put PPF on the front of the car and a ceramic coating over everything.
We already do paint correction and ceramic coating, so we know how much prep matters. Any swirls or defects need to be corrected before film goes on, because whatever is under the film stays there.
Coverage options
PPF can go on as much or as little of the car as you want.
Front bumper, the leading edge of the hood and fenders, and mirrors. Covers the spots that chip most for the lowest cost.
Full hood, full fenders, front bumper, headlights and mirrors. A good fit for daily drivers with lots of highway miles.
Everything in the full front, plus rocker panels, A-pillars and the roof edge above the windshield.
Every painted panel. The most protection you can get, for new cars and anything you plan to keep.
Door edges, door handle cups and the top of the rear bumper where things get loaded and unloaded.
